Operations
This group of volunteers assists with finding advocacy opportunities, dispersing educational information about Buddies Not Bullies through various methods, and other operations as determined.
Board of Directors
It takes many different types of committed individuals to build and sustain a successful charitable organization. There are three integral characteristics that we are looking for in a Board member:
Passion for the mission of Buddies Not Bullies.
Strong commitment to the wellbeing of children.
Desire to be a part of groundbreaking prevention efforts that have far reaching benefits for children and the entire community.
In general, our Board looks to its members to:
Determine programs and activities which are consistent with our mission and monitor their effectiveness.
Actively participate in organizational planning and implementation of organizational goals.
Be an advocate in the community.
To provide the committees of Buddies Not Bullies with resources for financial and professional support.
Abide by the organizational volunteer policy regarding confidentiality and child abuse and neglect.
Board of Directors must meet the following requirements:
21 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
Family Care Safety Registry
Clear background screen
More Positions
Administrative or Secretarial
These volunteers assist with administrative and clerical needs: answering phones, returning phone calls, filing, copying, writing letters, emails, and organizing information in the volunteer database.
Public Advocate
These volunteers assist with finding and arranging opportunities to speak in public about Buddies Not Bullies. This includes distributing flyers and materials and requesting funds or resources over the phone and in person.
Public Outreach
These volunteers research advocacy and promotional opportunities. They are responsible for contacting local businesses in the community via phone, email, or other methods in order to arrange opportunities to sponsor or support Buddies Not Bullies.
Grant Research/Writing
These volunteers research potential grant opportunities that can provide program and/or operational support to Buddies Not Bullies. They may also assist with writing of grants and formal requests for funding.
This is an ongoing opportunity.
Qualifications:
Prior grant writing or review experience is preferred.
Excellent written communication skills.
College credit may be available depending on Educational Institution.
Current Prevention Research
These volunteers engage in researching current scholarly trends in bullying prevention that support the programming of Buddies Not Bullies and/or inform staff of potential programming opportunities.
